Angelyssa Torres

Future Veterinarian

Angelyssa Torres is a graduating senior at Esperanza Cyber Charter School who plans to major in Small Animal Science and pursue a career as a veterinarian.

While completing high school, she also earned an Associate Degree in Healthcare and distinguished herself through leadership roles in Student Government, HOSA, National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa, the International Thespian Society, and the Student Library Council.

Her accomplishments include earning a First Place Medal in Biomedical Debate at the state-level HOSA competition, receiving the ECCS Legacy Award and Engagement Award, participating in the STEM Eclose Summer Program, and helping lead a National Honor Society donation drive benefiting the Kensington community.

Outside the classroom, Angelyssa enjoys drawing, writing, music, theater, and caring for animals. She also holds certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, and Stop the Bleed.

According to her nominating counselor, Angelyssa consistently demonstrates leadership, resilience, initiative, and a strong commitment to helping others while pursuing her academic and career goals.
