LaRoche Scholars Cohort Program

The LaRoche Scholars Cohort Program is a cohort-based college access and retention initiative designed to help high-potential students transition into college and persist through completion. Through pre-collegiate preparation, peer cohort support, and ongoing mentoring, LaRoche Scholars enter college equipped to thrive academically, build belonging, and engage campus resources.

Program Model

How the Cohort Program Works

Our model is built around four connected components:

1. Holistic Scholar Selection
We identify students with leadership potential, resilience, and motivation—not only traditional metrics.

2. Pre-Collegiate Training
A structured preparation series that strengthens college readiness, self-advocacy, and accountability before students arrive on campus.

3. Campus Cohort Support
Ongoing cohort check-ins and mentoring designed to support persistence, belonging, and proactive engagement with campus resources.

4. Career & Pathways Development
Career readiness, internship exposure, and professional development to connect college success to long-term outcomes.

College Partnership Pathway
How Colleges Partner With LaRoche

LaRoche partners with mission-aligned colleges and universities through a structured pilot pathway:

1. Exploratory Conversation
We discuss alignment with institutional priorities around persistence, first-year transition, and student success.

2. Pilot Cohort Agreement
A small pilot cohort (typically 2–5 students) with clear roles, expectations, and a campus liaison.

3. Pre-Collegiate Preparation + On-Campus Support
LaRoche provides pre-college training and structured cohort support during the academic y3.ear.

4. Outcomes Review + Growth Planning
We review retention and engagement outcomes together and explore scaling the partnership over time.

Outcomes & Accountability

What We Track

LaRoche uses clear, measurable indicators to evaluate progress and improve continuously:

Term-to-term retention

Academic progress (GPA)

Engagement with program requirements

Persistence toward graduation

Internship/career readiness milestones (as cohorts mature)

Our program is designed to complement—not replace—existing campus services.
