Jibraeel Abdul-Haqq is a motivated high school student from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a strong interest in architecture, construction, and building systems. As a member of the LaRoche Scholars Founding Cohort, Jibraeel brings a hands-on understanding of how structures are built, maintained, and brought to life.
Through direct experience in residential electrical and plumbing work, Jibraeel has developed practical knowledge of wiring, system maintenance, and the integration of structural and mechanical systems. This early exposure has shaped his desire to pursue a future in architecture, where he can combine technical skill with creative design to impact the built environment.
In addition to his trade experience, Jibraeel has demonstrated discipline and reliability through his work at Wawa, where he operated in fast-paced, high-demand environments while maintaining strong customer service and teamwork. His ability to balance work and school reflects a high level of responsibility and commitment.
Jibraeel is currently a student at South Philadelphia High School and is actively working toward positioning himself for success at the collegiate level through the LaRoche Foundation’s 0% Tuition Pathway™, aligning his academic goals, career interests, and financial strategy.
With a strong work ethic and a clear sense of direction, Jibraeel represents the next generation of builders and problem-solvers—students who are not only preparing for college, but for meaningful, purpose-driven careers.
